Dear Families,
Lots of great things happening at HRH. Our teachers have been busy writing report cards, engaged in Math and Literacy learning and preparation for our holiday concert is well underway.
A reminder that there is no school for our students on Friday, November 22nd- our teachers will be busy writing report cards.
We recognize that the holidays can be a stressful time for families. If you or someone you know is in need, please reach out to Ms. Cholock.
Lunches:
It is great to see so many families ordering lunches and children trying and enjoying food that may be new to them. Although many children are enjoying their lunches, some children are reluctant to give their lunch a try and quickly want to throw it away. Our teachers and lunch monitors will continue to encourage our students to take a few bites and refrain from making negative comments. It would be great if families could also reinforce this message at home. Thanks so much!
Holiday Concerts:
Mrs. Newhook-MacDonald, our amazingly talented music teacher and our students are busy preparing for our upcoming Holiday Concerts. Our concerts will be held on December 10th and 11th. The choir will perform both evenings.

Parent-Teacher Meetings:
Our Parent/Teacher conferences for our P-5 students will be held on Thursday, December 5th from 12:30-3:00pm and from 5:30-7:30pm. (There are no classes for students on Thursday, December 5th due to a PD session for teachers during the morning and the conferences during the afternoon/evening.)
Once again, we will be booking conferences through an online system. The online booking system will open for families on Thursday, November 28th. The link will be sent next week and will also be able to be found on our school website.
We hope all parents will take this opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher to learn how they can support their progress. Conferences can be in person or by a phone call. Please be sure to indicate your preferred method of contact when you book your conference. Much like our meetings in the past, families can expect a few minutes wait in between appointment times. If you require an appointment outside of the designated times, please contact your child’s teacher directly.
If you would like to meet with one of our specialists, they will also have appointment times available through the on-line booking system. Mr. Clattenburg, one of our Phys. Ed teachers will be at his other school during Parent-Teacher meetings. If you would like to have a meeting with Mr. Clattenburg, please email him at mclattenburg@hrce.ca.
If you need to see more than one teacher, please allow at least 10 minutes between meetings to travel to other classes.
If you don’t have access to the internet, you can call the office at 902-864-6815 to book a conference time. All conference bookings should be completed by Wednesday, December 4th at noon.
Thank you for your continued support.
J. Cholock
