HRH News Oct. 30

Dear Families,

Here we are at the end of October- can you even believe it? There is lots of Halloween excitement in the air and tomorrow is sure to be a really fun day here at HRH.

Again this year, Halloween at HRH will be held throughout the school day, allowing all children from PP to 5 to engage in fun and spooktacular interactive games. A big thanks to our PTA members for working together and assembling over 500 treat bags, purchasing supplies and volunteering throughout the day tomorrow.

A reminder that the children from Pre-Primary to 5 are invited to dress up tomorrow; however, masks (face coverings) and/or weapons are not permitted. Face paint is a great option. We recommend saving your more elaborate costumes for home so that they do not get damaged, soiled or parts lost at school.

We ask families to be mindful of the urgent nature that some younger students face while needing to use the washroom. If their costume is difficult to put on and off, it would be better saved for evening trick or treating. Ensuring that they are independent with their costume is important. Thank you!

In the days following Halloween, children tend to bring a few of their Halloween treats to school- we all remember those days. We do have several students who have a life-threatening allergy to nuts, therefore, it will be important to ensure that snacks are peanut free. Chocolate bars such as Snickers, Reese’s Pieces, Crispy Crunch, Wunderbar and M&Ms are some of the most common that we see in lunch bags after Halloween. Thank you so much for helping to keep our students safe.

Have a boo-tiful day!
