Nov. 16th Week at a Glance
Dear Families,
Lots of great things happening at HRH. Our teachers have been busy writing report cards and preparing for Parent Teacher meetings. A reminder that there is no school for our students tomorrow- our teachers will be busy writing report cards.
We recognize that the holidays can be a stressful time for families. If you or someone you know is in need, please reach out to Ms. Cholock.
Pre-Primary Bussing:
Our littlest students have settled in well to school and are having a lot of fun with their friends and amazing PP teachers. Off loading our buses in the morning has gotten a lot easier and more efficient, however, there are some PP students who continue to sit at the back of the bus, which does slow down our process and doesn’t allow our bus drivers to have them in their line of sight. We know that our bus drivers are on a very tight schedule and picking up their next group of students on-time is very important to them. We also want to ensure that our students feel safe and aren’t exposed to some of the more mature conversations that happen with our older students. All PP students should be sitting close to the front of the bus. Families, we appreciate your support with this.
Holiday Concerts:
Mrs. Newhook-MacDonald and our students are also busy preparing for our upcoming Holiday Concerts. Our concerts will be held on December 12th and 13th. The choir will perform both evenings.
The following classes will perform on December 12th - Dress rehearsal at 9:30 am and concert at 7:00 pm
Choir, P Tetanish, P Corey, P/1 Beaton, ½ MacDonald, 2 Edwards, 3 Halvorsen, 3 Nolan, 5 Floyd, 5 Howell
The following classes will perform on December 13th- Dress rehearsal at 9:30 am and concert at 7:00 pm
Choir, 1 Cooke, 1 Crowe/Wilde, 2 Lefebvre, 2 MacLean, ¾ Hart, 4 Tiller, 4 Calnen, 5 Chute
Parent-Teacher Meetings:
Our Parent/Teacher conferences for our P-5 students will be held on Thursday, November 23rd from 12:30-3:00pm and from 5:30-7:30pm. (There are no classes for students on Thursday, November 23rd due to a PD session for teachers during the morning and the conferences during the afternoon/evening.)
Once again, we will be booking conferences through an online system.
We hope all parents will take this opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher to learn how they can support their progress. Conferences can be in person or by a phone call. Please be sure to indicate your preferred method of contact when you book your conference. Much like our parent-teacher meetings in the past, families can expect a few minutes wait in between appointment times. If you require an appointment outside of the designated times, please contact your child’s teacher directly.
If you would like to meet with one of our specialists, they will also have appointment times available through the on-line booking system. Mr. Clattenburg, one of our Phys. Ed teachers will be at his other school during Parent-Teacher meetings. If you would like to have a meeting with Mr. Clattenburg, please email him at mclattenburg@hrce.ca.
If you need to see more than one teacher, please allow at least 10 minutes between meetings to travel to other classes.
Go to the following web site to book your conferences: https://ptcfast.com/schools/Harry_R_Hamilton
If you don’t have access to the internet, you can call the office at 902-864-6815 to book a conference time. All conference bookings should be completed by Wednesday, November 22nd.
Thank you for your continued support.
